introductionFor this next part of this project I'm choosing a logo, color scheme, images, and typefaces to use for my brand style guide. Logo
Color
TypefaceImageFor this project I'm making a brand style guide based off my character Elecx or my persona character. Elecx is going to be from a comic book series that has an animated movie adaptation along with merchandise. The person that made this series started as a simple artist in their room drawing up some characters and writing short stories to go with the characters.. they then took these characters and started posting comic pages to the internet before it took off and they were able to make it a full on comic book series, and do it as their job. The book's main goal is to help people understand and accept others even if it's hard to. Elecx the main character in the books is an alien from space. On their planet the people have solved all of their problems though it took thousands of years and a massive nuclear war destroying half the planet for them to finally get along and have a mutual understanding and respect for each other. Elecx ends up pursuing intergalactic space travel as a career they end up in a wormhole after a mission goes wrong. they end up on earth and see how terrible things are and make it a new goal to fix things on earth. So I need to make a logo for the brand. I have some ideas in mind though I'm a little stuck. I want to make the brand appear fun and welcoming but have a hint of professionalism in there as well. I plan on using color and shape to get this across. below are some things I'm taking inspiration from. (number so you can tell me which one to use for inspiration) I want my logo to have a hand drawn look but still be professional.
I would like some feedback on what I should do with this idea and how I should make my logo. So, this is a dragon design I have been messing with for a bit. It's a combination between the designs of the sea monsters in Luca and Toothless from how to train your dragon. I was thinking of doing a animation for the design but I'm stuck on what to do should I have it swimming, running, or flying? I would like some input on what to do.

My animation is of Kat drying off and turning into a human, The main principle I'm using is Fallow Through and Overlapping Action. Also using squash & stretch, and staging. The thing that involves fallow through is when their head moves their hair and ears follow at different speeds, and stop after the head has. I'm using squash & stretch by having the head squash down when they shake and their ears stretch out at the movement. Staging is being used by showing you that Kat is what your meant to be looking at. I did change Kats head shape because I realized how hard it would be to animate the original head shape and it didn't fit my art style. I would love some input on how I could improve the animation rough draft animationWhat Inspired MeLucaLuca has been my main inspiration for making this character. I really like both the designs of the characters and the way their animated. It's mostly inspired me to experiment with my art. I Find that my personal art style has a more realistic look than the characters in Luca. AnimalsI find that I'm really inspired by animals, and I like making humanoid animals. I find Lynxes, water bears, and wolves are the animals that inspire me the most. I find fur and skin textures are the most fun to draw. Neytirixthe artist Neytirix is a big inspiration for me I found them through their speed paints (a speed paint is sped up footage of someone making an art piece, it's usually digital) and I incorporated a lot of their character designs into mine. this is the character sheet for my character, I spent a long time thinking about color before I landed on the one you see bellow. you can see character details in my previous blogpost. I would like some feedback on the color I chose and if I could change anything. Color Optionshere are all the other color options I made before landing on the one above For this project I’m working on character design. After finalizing the design I’m going to do an animation of the character. below are the character details. Name: Katia Marino (Kat) Age:16 Gender: Female Pronouns: they/them Species: sea monster/sea folk Physical appearance: they’re average height being 5’6” they have a long tail and have scales covering their body when in their sea monster form. In human form they have lightly tanned skin with short brown hair Home: they live in a sea cave alone near Isola Del Mare in a village of sea folk (their parents went missing when they were young) Personality: Kat is a very extroverted person, they like to be around people and enjoy attention. They hate living alone but due to their energetic personality they tend to push people away unintentionally. They also are very stubborn when making choices and once they make up their mind it’s hard to change it. positive traits: caring, outgoing, empathetic, and accepting. Negative traits: overambitious, Energetic, isolated, and stubborn. I'm confused on the colors I should use I was initially thinking purples and blues but I'm now having second thoughts what colors do you think I should use? I also want the character to have a human form: I'm still puzzled on what there human form should look like. how would I make the head look human while still having the same head shape as their monster counterpart? Referancesthis character is based off the sea monsters from the movie Luca below are the main character designs from Luca |
